It's time to get ready for Rosh Hashanah 5778. We would like to wish you and your family a wonderful year filled with inspiration and growth! ROSH HASHANAH 5778 Thursday, September 21 - Friday, September 22 (Begins eve Wednesday, September 20) Rosh Hashana, "The Head of the Year" in Hebrew, is the start of the Jewish New Year. Just like the head controls the body, our actions on Rosh Hashanah have a tremendous impact on the rest of the year. From Aish.com On Rosh Hashana it is a mitzvah to hear the shofar - a curved ram's horn. The custom is to blow a total of 100 blasts. We eat festive foods and have these thoughts in mind: APPLE in HONEY: May we have a sweet New Year! LEEK or CABBAGE: May our enemies be CUT OFF. BEETS: May our adversaries be REMOVED. DATES: May our enemies be FINISHED. GOURD: May the decree of our sentence be TORN apart, and may our merits be PROCLAIMED. POMEGRANATE: May our merits increase as the seeds of a POMEGRANATE. HEAD of a SHEEP or FISH: May we be like the HEAD and not the tail. #ProjectInspire #Jinspire #inspiration #learning #roshhashana #newyear #roshhashana2017
